Welcome to St. Thomas!

Whether you have been coming a long time or are new to this community, we are happy you are here!  St. Thomas is an open, affirming and friendly space, so we hope you and your loved ones feel comfortable and relaxed no matter where you are on your faith journey.  We are a progressive, liberal United church that believes in Open Hands, Open Hearts, Open Minds, that connect scripture to today’s world and each other.  We are committed to expressing inclusivity and respectful human rights in all its diversity.

Genuine and radical hospitality starts with welcoming and caring for those who come through our doors, whether you are at home or at church. It really is who we are!

What can you expect?

You can expect that St. Thomas united church will be here to support you and our community.  Based on the recommendations of Alberta Health, The United Church, and Chinook Winds Region, St. Thomas United has decided to postpone all in person worship services and instead move to an online only worship format.  Each Sunday we will be posting an online worship service for you to participate in at home. This service will be complete with scripture, prayers, music, and message.  As is our tradition, we will continue to hold one another in prayer.  Please submit your prayer requests by 10:00am Thursday morning to justinmcneill@stthomasunited.ca for inclusion in Sunday’s service.

Though we are doing services online we are still very much a community. As a community and a people of faith, we shouldn’t think about this time as being isolated from one another, but rather intentionally caring for one another from a distance. We are putting together a phone call fan out program where folks will be calling one another on a regular basis to check-in and make sure all is well and staying in contact, and maybe having some fun through our social media platforms such as FaceBook and Twitter.

Together we all contribute to the work of the church in the community and the world.  Please continue to support what we are doing at St. Thomas United through the PAR plan, or by making an online donation. Online donations can be made through the giving page on our website by clicking on Donate Now button. Your donation tax receipts will be emailed to you immediately after a donation.
