A Country Christmas

December 23rd.

Available at 10:00 am.

Join us for a Christmas Service from the Llewelyn-Bethel Chapel – near Bangor & Atwater in SE Saskatchewan. Built in 1910 and the oldest Welsh congregation in Western Canada. In 1934, the congregation joined the United Church of Canada and is part of the Little Cutarm Pastoral Charge, which is served by Shelly Morris (lay supply and Sacrament Elder) and Rev. Susan Griffith (Pastoral Charge Supervisor) – side note: Rev. Susan Griffith is the mom of our very own Kari Orosz! Evening services are usually held there twice a year – on December 23rd for Christmas Eve as well as Good Friday. There is no electricity in the building and a wood-burning stove is the only source of heat. Usually on Christmas Eve there are a number of candles & oil lamps lit in the windows to give the church it’s light, and music is provided by the pump organ. We are honoured and privileged to be able to offer this service as one of your adventure choices during this time of being “Home for the Holy-Days” and hope people share it widely with friends and family.
